The
founding father of Pedley Furniture International Ltd, Neville Pedley,
lead the team that built the original 'Harmony', from which our new vessel
derives it's name.
The
production of Harmony (I) was one of the group activities undertaken by
four members of the Diploma year at Shoreditch Training College (1950-1951).
"The
true measure of its success is not the production of a fine boat, which
is one of the lightest and fastest yet built, but in what it has done for
the future and how it has affected us as men. Together we set out, together
we toiled with mind and hand, together we saw a boat grow, met problems
and over came them, disagreed and resolved our differences. Slowly the great
possibilities of boat building became apparent."

Water-Rat was right when he said: "There is nothing, absolutely nothing quite so much worth doing
as simply messing about in boats."
